However Deputy Chief O’Malley needs their help. It turns out his ancestor stole a pot of gold
from a leprechaun. The leprechaun cursed
them with a Bog Hound would carry the head of the clan away
every time there was a full moon on St. Patrick’s Day. Having just recently become head of the clan the curse is now upon him. Since tomorrow is going to be a St. Patrick's Day full moon he

Looking for a four-leaf |
Three
Ghostbusters go out to find a four leaf clover, but Egon decides only Ghostbuster
technology will do the job. The three
clover-searching Ghostbusters each has a misadventure looking for the clover,
at one point Ray is thrown into a trash can by an angry Irish-American cop for disrespecting his
culture. Egon actually found the Bog
Hound at the zoo and tried to catch the creature but Peter didn’t charge the
packs so Egon was forced to retreat. He
almost gets eaten by lions but he does manage trick the Bog Hound with "fetch."
Sometime that weapon you had turns out to be fake. |
Peter
finds a four leaf clover but Slimer eats it.
At the St. Patrick Day parade the Ghostbusters admit defeat and resign
to just protecting O’Malley himself. The
Bog Hound attacks and the Ghostbusters battle it. At one point Peter is knocked
into the Mayor’s car and steals the Mayor’s wife’s broach, which was a four leaf
clover. Peter tries to use it only to
discover it’s fake. Peter ran for it
with the Bog Hound chasing him, but Egon gets the creature with a in a trap as it attempts to run over the it while chasing Peter. The Ghostbusters are honored at the end of
the parade and given medals, which allow the Mayor’s wife some revenge.
Yeah its nasty. |
My Take: An
amusing episode. I am tad bit
disappointed that the cursing leprechaun never made an appearance.
Now for
my stray observations:
·
Finally someone holds the Ghostbusters
accountable for being so damn destructive, it took nearly killing the Mayor’s wife
but still. Of course, their connections
get them off.
·
O’Malley is really into doing things last
minute. If he really believed this don't you
think he would just put an ad in the paper on his willingness to buy a four
leaf clover?
·
You shouldn’t read Tobin’s Spirt Guide and drive
at the same time.
·
Egon thinks we can’t trust magic only
science. That’s funny last episode he was singing a very different tune.
·
Don’t trust Peter to do things. Charging Packs? Finding clovers?
·
Can lions climb trees?
·
Egon needs to learn how to open doors instead of
trying to enter the car through the window.
·
Destructive Ghostbusters again.
·
Got it with a trap.
They got lucky in this episode
although that was sort of the theme.

Just rewatched this episode with my kids. Nostalgia from my childhood in the US. I really liked/feared at the same time the hound. Very happy to rewatch it with my kids, they also like the episode. Always wondered what should've happened if Slimer didn't ate the four leaf clover... inmediate dissapearance of the bog hound? Who knows...

Yes, Slimer ate things at worst time way too often. It would have been neat to see what the Clover did. Make it run away? Shirnk it? Or just break the curse?
Delete"Slimer ate things at worst time way too often" TOTALLY!!
